Maple Elementary Community Meeting

Highlights of district statements:

The decision timeline concerning school sites is between March 15th and May. Both a balanced 2nd Interim budget and certificated layoff notices have a March 15th deadline.

Schools are a community asset and we want to provide for the community.

Progressive reductions in pay (district-wide and cutbacks in senior staff) continue to be evaluated.

Highlights of community statements:

The Spanish speaking community needs more translation headphones as well as Spanish language matrix materials.

The South area has most of the small schools and needs another community meeting when the district is ready to make actual proposals concerning its schools.

Maple Elementary is more than a successful neighborhood school. It is a vital community center that functions like an extended family.

Maple Elementary is tight-knit school community where almost of the students walk.

Maple Elementary smallness helps bond together families from diverse backgrounds.

Give us all of our student’s funding and let us decide how much central services we need.
