SCUSD Observer

Sacramento, California

A little bit ‘o good news

It was announced yesterday that Ethel Baker Elementary school’s library will get a makeover this summer thanks to a program by Target and the Heart of America Foundation.

In today’s Sacramento Bee, education writer Melody Gutierrez reports that SCUSD is striving to keep its school libraries open. Other districts, like Natomas Unified, are choosing to ax library programs in an effort to find money to close the budget gap.

Kudos to the District and its managers for having the foresight to know that libraries are important and worth saving.
